Jun 2012 - Sept 2013As the Orientation Graduate Assistant, I supervised, advised, and mentored 10 paid Orientation Area Directors, where I was the lead on advising, hiring, training, and evaluating these individuals. Additionally, I led weekly meetings to discuss leadership skills, initiatives, and reflection based ways to reinvent the Orientation program. I supervised three student workers where I helped them manage projects through weekly meetings and arrange responsibilities including survey analysis, website design, four hiring cycles with over 600 students, and assessment. Show less During the course of my internship, I led group advising sessions utilizing Adobe Connect to introduce transfer students to academic policies, registration procedures, major declaration information, and positive course selection techniques (approximately 40 students). Additionally, I participated in the creation of new Blackboard learning tool designed to introduce all new students to the liberal arts perspective, academic advising basics, and registration basics. I taught four sections of USC 101 and 102, a year long course to help my advisees successfully transition to NC State and explore themselves as well as majors of interest. Lastly, I served as the Poole College of Management Liaison to facilitate communication, understanding, and information between the two programs.
