  From September 2004 until September 2006, I worked as an Assessed Technical Training Consultant with Ericsson - a world leader in mobile telecommunications. I taught the 3GPP standard mobile architecture courses, as well as Ericsson proprietaru courses, to both Ericsson personnel and customers world wide e.g. Brazil, Egypt, South Africa, Tunisia, Sudan, Greece, Russia, Mozambique.

  Senior Research Engineer

  I was lead researcher and technical manager for TSSG on the Phase II FINESCE project, which helped to deliver 7 large-scale energy trial sites in Europe. In particular, I lead a team to develop an Optimisation System that enabled Utility operators to make end-user demand track volatile renewable energy supply.I was investigating the opportunities in ICT and the Smart Grid as part of newly formed FI-PPP project "FINSENY" (Future INternet Smart Energy). This project brings together key actors from the ICT and energy sectors to identify the ICT requirements of Smart Energy Systems. Previously, from January 2009 - Feb 2011) I was doing research in the area of autonomic networks (the concept of autonomic network management (ANM). More specifically, I worked on the MAGNETO project, which had "the goal of adding a new level of service and network management to the “outer edge” domain i.e. the point of attachment of home area networks and other restricted area networks to the telecommunication infrastructure." I support and promote certification and qualification opportunities for all staff.I work extensively with all our colleagues to understand their training needs and to provide excellent internal and external training opportunities to meet those needs.I work closely with Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT) so our employees can avail of numerous courses such as the Higher Diploma in IT (BSA), Masters in Distributed Systems and Masters in Enterprise Business Systems. I also help to develop and maintain a relationship with talented graduates and provide them with local employment opportunities.I also help deliver a variety of training at all levels – including many technical courses such SQL, databases, Excel and other Microsoft applications.
