  Through dedicated servant leadership of the Residency Program, our team received one of the first 10 year accreditation cycles awarded to an Anesthesiology training program. We received no negative citations and multiple commendations from the ACGME in my tenure of over 9 years. I helped to elevate the national profile of our program through leadership at the local and national level, working through multiple organizations,(ACGME, ABA, SACPD, IHSGAE, SAGA), to enhance educational processes. I facilitated the doubling in size of our internship program through strategic negotiations. I partnered with and mentored residents and faculty to build programatic excellence. By providing innovative educational experiences and helping residents exceed our high standards, our program developed a strong national reputation. This resulted in top job and fellowship placements for graduates and a virtuous cycle of sustained excellence for the program. Show less

  I serve as the Vice Chair for the newly inaugurated Department of Anesthesiology in the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. In this role, I assisted in developing new departmental bylaws, oversaw elections of the first executive committee, and chair the executive committee as we develop a promotions process and initiate a chair search.
