Improved understanding of techniques of destruction of chlorinated alkanes and alkenes for the University of Arizona Superfund Program. Used gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS), gas chromatography/flame ionization detector (GC-FID), micro scale measuring devices (syringes, pipettes etc), mass flow controllers to generate and analyze data. Prepared of analytical standards, calibration curves, set-up and ran experiments before developing models to describe reaction behaviors. Investigated developing a technique for the destruction of Freon-12. Developed sample analysis methods for gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS), gas chromatography/flame ionization detector (GC-FID) for measuring concentrations of samples. Show less Remediated chlorinated organic pollutants with the University of Arizona Superfund Program. Analyzed halogenated organic compounds in solution (tetrachloroethylene, trichloroethylene, carbon tetrachloride, Freon-22) with GC/electron capture detection (ECD), GC/thermal conductivity detection (TCD), GC/mass spectrometry (development of methods and analysis), use of electronic balances, use of micro scale measuring devices, and preparation of analytical standards and calibration curves. Completed basic machine shop training, Lab Safety Training (27 June 2007). Show less

Responsible for mentoring and instructing engineers within the area, back filling the section manager, provide input for ratings/ranking/reviews, assist with staffing requirements, and engaged in day to day operations within the factory to support in the absence of engineers or other key support staff.Work with space programs to develop processes and design of new hardware being qualified and bringing it to full production readiness. Worked with space program to develop ROMs to bring outsourced hardware in house as a competitive advantage based on the core competencies of the factory.Coauthor on pending patent for Raytheon proprietary manufacturing process.Stepped in as a factory manager in addition to continued section lead duties while personnel transition was in place. Role included managing 18 hourly employees, scheduling daily tasks and being responsible for on time hardware delivery. Working to obtain a Program Management 6 level certification by the end of 2017 with the Women's Leadership Rise Up Cohort. Along with required training, spent time with the TOW program manager to learn areas of program management that didn't currently have experience with including finance and EAC reviews for the entire program.Work within cryogenic and mechanical manufacturing area which included work with: High pressure gas vessels, welding, heat exchangers, precision cleaning techniques.Successfully developed and implemented automated processes to replace manual and subjective processes to improve throughput, quality, reliability and operator ergonomics and safety with the manufacturing team.Responsible for process improvements leading to 30% reduction (400+ hours to 120 hrs) in touch time and decrease of defects from 34% to 1% on certain processes and hardware. Show less Successfully determined root cause of supplier delivery delays and aided in suggesting and implementing corrective actions.Stationed at a Raytheon supplier as an acting supplier manager for an extended period of time located in the United Kingdom to better respond to immediate production issues and help resolve them in a timely manner.Worked with several engineering disciplines and management to review current production lines and pull together and execute action plans to improve items found to not be up to required standardsCoordinated and implemented plans to get supplier returned units, develop a rework method and execute on a number of returned units to ensure that the production line was not stoppedLiaison between supplier personnel and Raytheon management in order to expedite daily operational requirements to improve supplier efficiency Familiar with international business requirements including ITAR restrictions, international manufacturing licensing agreements, and international contracting Show less Brought a technical data package up to current standards resulting in an average of $80,000 per year in program savings as they relate to dispositioning defects. Eliminate chromate paint process to improve process time and eliminate EHS concerns resulting in a savings of $328,500 annually.Implemented several rework processes, machining processes, tooling, efficiency and automation improvements that resulted in a combined savings of nearly $250,000 annually.Led the Raytheon oversight of a composite material supplier location change which included review of ISO requirements, observation of, and assistance in set up of processes. Oversaw qualification runs of material and material testing that resulted in passing requirements and product compliance.Coordinate and execute first article reports for entire build processes, including the review of technical data packages to identify discrepancies between processes, product and drawings and coordinate corrective action plans to resolve issues.Develop and lead collaborative efforts with other technical disciplines including structural/thermal analysis, materials and processes, mechanical test, aerodynamics and non-composite materials groups.Support new business development by preparing inputs for bids and proposals including project schedule and engineering and operations risk assessment. Perform effective produciblity reviews on incoming drawings and the development of prototypes pieces to validate capabilities and quality of final product.Experienced with various composite processes including hand lay-up, bonding, calendaring, ply cutting, compression molding, paint, powder coat, filament winding, autoclaving, VARTM/ RTM and CNC machining.Experienced in the use of statistical process control, root cause/corrective action, Process Failure Modes Effects and Analysis to monitor and improve processes.
