  Wild-land firefighters are responsible for responding and suppressing the fires that ignite within the wild-land surrounding our communities. Our job consists of taking and implementing the required training to effectively and professionally protect the wild-land. On a day to day basis my job consists of training, gear cleaning and maintenance, certification courses such as chainsaw operations, pump maintenance, rotor wing entry and exit. This role is contract based seasonally, the contract runs from April though until August. As an initial attack crew member my job consists of taking wildland fire protection courses, such as chainsaw operations and maintenance, rotor wing entry and exit, pump operations and maintenance, safety on the fire-line to list a few. My job consists of maintaining my physical fitness, personal equipment as well as the fire-base and base equipment.
