      • Criminal Investigations (December 2016 - June 2021): Responsible for investigations of all persons crimes in the City of Plano (e.g. homicides, robberies, assaults, sex offenses, etc.). Selected, trained, and led sergeants tasked with supervising detectives in the Crimes Against Persons, Sex Crimes, and Family Violence Units. Managed and directed some of the most significant and detailed criminal investigations in the history of the Plano Police Department.• Emergency Services Unit (July 2015 – June 2021): Served as a Tactical Operations Commander on numerous SWAT callouts, barricaded persons, and incidents involving noncompliant criminal suspects. Reviewed and approved tactical plans, operational threat assessments, and requests to utilize the SWAT team for high-risk search and arrest warrants. Assessed “no knock” warrant affidavits for accuracy, legality, and reasonableness prior to presentation before a magistrate.• Administrative Lieutenant for the Chief of Police (July 2015 - December 2016):Completed special projects, research, and analysis as directed by the Chief of Police. Supervised sergeants assigned to the School Resource Officer Unit, Crime Prevention Unit, and the Warrants Unit. Served as liaison to external local governments and private sector organizations.• Patrol Watch Commander (April 2013 - July 2015): Managed the operation and administration of the Patrol Services Division (3rd Watch). Developed, mentored, and led sergeants and line officers serving an urban/suburban population of approximately 300,000 across a 72 square mile city. Fostered and protected valuable business community relationships in a district with more than a dozen licensed bars and monthly alcohol sales among the highest in the State of Texas. Show less • Patrol Services Division (October 2011 - April 2013): Led and developed uniformed police officers assigned to one of four major patrol sectors. Coordinated, instructed, and administered the Department's patrol rifle program (120+ officers). • Training Coordinator (Aug 2009 - October 2011): Served in a full-time leadership, administrative, and instructional role at the Plano Police Academy. Worked closely with the Chief’s office and City of Plano procurement personnel to ensure continuous delivery of training with a budget of approximately $1 million. Developed and instituted training programs for veteran and recruit officers. Supervised, selected, and evaluated police instructors.• Family Violence Unit Sergeant (Feb 2007 – Aug 2009): Managed and coordinated investigations of intrafamily assaults, sexual offenses, child pornography, and Internet crimes against children. Supervised and assisted Detectives with complex criminal investigations. Reviewed and approved case reports, affidavits, and the service of search and arrest warrants. Assisted the U.S. Secret Service and Federal Bureau of Investigation with investigations of child pornography and Internet crimes against children.• SWAT Team Sergeant (Sept 2004 - Feb 2007): Supervised and led specially trained officers responding to extraordinary situations such as barricaded persons, hostage situations, suicidal persons, and the service of high-risk warrants. Conducted surveillances and provided executive protection. Coordinated multi-unit operations involving sensitive investigations. Developed lesson plans and SWAT training doctrine.• Patrol Services Division (Sept 2004 - Feb 2007): Supervised police officers assigned to uniformed patrol. Developed, trained, evaluated and counseled patrol officers under my direct command.
