  Collaborated with The Young Musicians program throughout the 2023-24 academic year to assess the impact of music and art on the cognitive development of children. Participants aged 7-12 years old engaged in either music or art during the fall semester, followed by exclusive participation in music classes during the spring semester. Our methodological approach was meticulously structured, encompassing the administration of three distinct evaluations at strategic intervals: at the commencement of the school year, during the midpoint, and culminating at its conclusion. This rigorous framework allowed us to capture the progression and evolution of cognitive development throughout the duration of the program.•Administered the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children Fifth Edition (WISC-V) to 20+ participants to garner insights into the cognitive functioning and intellectual capabilities of the participants. •Conducted a series of comprehensive music tasks utilizing advanced computational tools, notably MATLAB, to analyze the rhythmic perception and sensorimotor synchronization abilities of 20+ participants. These tasks encompassed a multifaceted approach, including rhythm discrimination, spontaneous finger tapping, and sensorimotor synchronization tasks.•Administered the FST sentence comprehension tasks to assess participants' proficiency in interpreting syntax and comprehending linguistic structures.
