      I spent the semester studying development and globalization in rural Thailand. The bulk of our research was conducted through interviews, political events, and homestays. It was capped off with a four week long independent research study finalized by an original journalism piece.

      Nichols Arboretum Intern

      In this internship, I led volunteer groups of 15-20 people into Nichols Arboretum to remove invasive species such as buckthorn and honeysuckle. I completed training in prescribed burns and gained experience in understanding and mitigating different environmental problems. I also practiced leadership, public speaking skills and conveying relevant information to non-experts in a field. I practiced data collection and coding, and the position enabled me to see the value of grassroots participation . Show less
