    • Froglife

      Jun 2010 - Sept 2013
      Education Officer

In this role I delivered a high-profile project consisting of conservation training and events for NEET’s around the Peterborough area. My work involved communicating with individuals from socially excluded backgrounds, while developing, managing, monitoring and evaluating my work according to funding guidelines. Working with NEET’s of all ages, I ran a varied programme where I taught them both practical conservation skills, but also personal development and professional practise. Throughout my time at Froglife I worked with a variety of participants, such as; young carers; adults with learning difficulties; young homeless people; and people from areas of economic or social disadvantage. In this position, I led practical sessions where I taught skills ranging from natural arts and crafts, to practical conservation work such as habitat creation, animal welfare and species surveying. The role required effective and sensitive communication at all times and I developed an excellent rapport with my participants. Alongside the cyclical training programme I hosted large public events for example, Bird Fair, Peterborough Green Festival and Froglife educational events and had involvement from celebrities, such as Charlie Dimmock, Nick Baker and Mike Dilger.Alongside my main project role, I also delivered sessions to primary schools; through a pack I developed called ‘Leap Frog’. This park offered schools a variety of modules to choose from that linked to the national curriculum. I also worked on a intergenerational reminiscence project, which saw me develop skills in reminiscence, heritage and also filming and editing. Show less

I was responsible for liaising with teachers and schools and promoting the project to new areas. I delivered sessions in both school grounds and also organised sessions for full year groups at various reserves and parks in the area.Throughout my time at LRWT it was crucial that I managed my time efficiently as I was covering two separate job roles. For the role of Wildlife Watch coordinator I had to mange a large team of volunteers, ensuring the needs of both the volunteers and participants were met. I developed training programmes and would regularly visit them at sessions to give any help or advice needed. During my time I was responsible for managing and recruiting new volunteers. • The Yoga Club UK

      May 2017 - Feb 2020
      Co-Founder

I have always had a strong desire to teach and educate others in an interactive and engaging way. Throughout all my positions this has been a corner stone to my work ethic, and moving away from environmental education to become a yoga teacher was no different. Yoga can often been seen as inaccessible and only for certain groups, so working with another teacher, we developed and created The Yoga Club. As a founder of this, I had a strong role in creating the business model and overview, managing the finances, developing the schedule and marketing our classes. This has been something completely new for me to start my own business, and my previous roles have played a strong part in helping me achieve this. Show less
