Show less Responsibilities:Primary Job Functions: Ensure that all navigational and station keeping operations are conducted in accordance with company procedures as well as all applicable maritime regulations. Direct operations of the ballast control systems. Assist in maintaining rig stability and position, including draft, trim and heel, as needed. Perform set-up, preventative maintenance and component testing on station keeping systems, ensuring optimum system performance. Maintain navigational logs. Record and submit reports as required by maritime regs. As well as company procedures. Assist in sub-sea operations relating to station keeping sensors and signals. Monitor drilling, loading and unloading, power plant operations and other rig operations for potential impact on navigation and station keeping operations. Make corrections or recommendations as needed. Keep Master informed of status on the rig regarding station keeping and subsequent problems. Supervised deck crew complement including 6 Able Seaman, 1 Bosun, 12roustabouts, 2 deck pushers, 2 crane operators & 2 asst. craneoperators.  Comply with company maintenance program.Secondary Job Functions: Supervisor for DPOs' navigation and station keeping systems. Ensuring equipment & aids are maintained, operational, and updated per maritime regulations and company procedures. Act as member of marine department emergency team in the event of a fire or other emergency. Participates as a member of emergency team as the OSMIC. Performs all duties in accordance with the Permit to Work system. Make recommendations for continuous improvement to the Quality Management System (QMS). Mentors on the job training and perform other duties and special projects as requested by management. Develop and implement JSA & risk assessments as required. Ensure adherence to all company safety policies & procedures. Participate in weekly and pre-tour meetings.
