    • Bristow Group

      May 2017 - Jun 2017
      Manager Safety Data Analysis

3 weeks after joining, the oil price plummeted & Bristow laid off 30 executives, this included me [I had not even finished onboarding!]. I include this as a valuable lesson. After negotiating with the management team and the CEO, I stayed and helped the team with a business plan for search and rescue utilizing unmanned aircraft. It allowed me to find another opportunity while working with a team I had always wanted to be part of. I found a new home at AUVSI, and Bristow launched its Unmanned Aircraft Systems search and rescue capability in the UK just over 12 months later with great success. Make the best of every situation, helping each other through tough times is always where the greatest rewards are. Show less
