      Cincinnati Children´s, is a nonprofit academic medical center and is one of the most distinguished pediatric hospitals in the United States. The Fetal Center department is specialized in treating complex and rare fetal conditions.Comparative, functional, developmental, and mostly morphological studies on animal anatomy require accurate visualization of three-dimensional structures. Nowadays, few widely applicable methods exist for non-destructive whole-volume imaging of animal tissues. The purpose of this project is to develop a method for quantitative analysis of the total fetal pulmonary vasculature using a technique that could be translated into human studies.Tasks, responsibilities and activities: - Established a scientific protocol and designed experiments - Generated 3D images from X-Ray Computed Tomography of the pulmonary airways and vascular branching were collected. - Enhanced images by median filtering using ImageJ and its python scripting plugin. - Data analysis and statistical test performed using the R softwareResults:Project completed in time. The scientific protocol and designed experiments were re-used in the latter. A paper has been published in Scientific Reports. Show less

      TGF-B (Transforming growth factor beta) is a key cytokine that can delineate the nature and the faith of a cell. TGF-B controls many fundamental aspects of the cellular behavior including apoptosis, cycle arrest, migration, adhesion and differentiation. However, TGF-B also appears to function paradoxically as a tumor suppressor in normal cells and early stage cancer, and as a tumor promoter in late stage cancer enhancing the progression of human malignances. The project tries to address an answer to the "TGF-B paradox" using computational bayesian modelling .Tasks, responsibilities and activities: - Selected specific pathway target genes through extensive research from the available literature - Established a scientific protocol and designed experiments - Data analysis and statistical test performed using the R software - Developed a prototype as proof of principals for cancer diagnostic using the R softwareResults:Working prototype completed on time. Invited to continue the project next year on immune cell (see project name : Signalling pathways analysis of immune cell maturation and activation, using knowledge-based computational modelling for cancer diagnostic).       Philips OncoSignal Molecular Pathway Diagnostics determines the activity of tumor-driving signal transduction pathways by measuring mRNA (genetic information) transcribed from target genes of the pathway transcription factors, and data interpretation with computational pathway models.The immunity cycle is a key element of the anti-cancer response that can delineate the nature and the faith of a tumour. Immune cells controls many fundamental aspects of the immunity response including antigen processing, antigen presenting and migration to the lymphatic. However, it also appears that cancer cells can trick in many ways the immune system in order to escape the immune response.Tasks, responsibilities and activities:Selected specific pathway target genes through extensive research from the available literatureEstablished a scientific protocol and designed experimentsData analysis and statistical test performed using the R softwareDeveloped a prototype as proof of principals for cancer diagnostic and immunotherapy using the R software.       The Master Class is an challenging program that allows to gain software engineering competences through the completion of a project under supervision. The goal of the project was to create an AI (artificial intelligence) for the game Bomber-man. The created agent competes autonomously against other AIs. Extensive C++, object oriented programming, UML 2.0, and Scrum methodology training were provided during the project.Tasks, responsibilities and activities:Gathered requirements and analysisDesigned a strong AIImplemented different algorithms for different play-stylesUnit tested, and code coverage reportedResults:The project was completed in time.       Following the success of the IURI project (see below), a similar project was started in a different department at ASML: the Wafer Alignment at Metrology. The goal of the project was to reuse the behavior driven framework and extend its usage. The project was quickly a success and my stay in the system team was extended. In addition, I have started a mentorship under the supervision of a senior software architect in order to deepen my leadership, communication and organizational skills.Sep 2020 - Mentorship, tasks, responsibilities and activities: Leading the CI/CD (Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment) of the Julia programming language as a Scrum Master: Facilitating cross functional discussion with multiple stakeholders from different organizational fields (with IT department, Security and policy infringement, Product Owners, etc...). Helping in removing team dependencies. Supporting the Team by removing impediments. Facilitating risk assessment meetings. Show less ASML provides chipmakers with hardware, software and services - according to their customer´s needs. ASML´s key technology is the lithography system. This system mass produces patterns on silicon, also called silicon chip. Using high-tech hardware and advanced software to control chip manufacturing processes, ASML helps its customers by increasing the value and lowering the cost of the produced chip.Software deliveries within ASML must pass a set of standard conditions. The IURI test (Install, Upgrade, Restore, Initialize) is one of these standard conditions. The IURI test verifies if a delivery can be installed, removed (backout), and installed again. During the last step, the IURI verifies that the removal of the delivery left the system undone of changes. In addition, the test verifies that all three steps have kept the system operational.Tasks, responsibilities and activities: Designing and developing a new test automation framework, using the Robot framework for high configurability and maintainability under behavior driven development. Gathering and documenting the requirements for all the checks in introduced by the new IURI test automation framework. Adding automated system tests using the IURI test automation framework to improve quality. Adding functionality to increase coverage of the tests. Gathering feedback from the domain team.Results:The IURI test allowed to automate repetitive tasks and added tests that were difficult or time consuming to do manually. The IURI has the advantage of being modular, maintainable and configurable. The testing framework was adopted by the domain team. Show less
