I worked along side the athletic trainers for the University at Buffalo's athletics program to treat athletes from the track team, men's soccer team, and women's volleyball team. I employed instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, therapeutic modalities, and guided athletes through their plan of care.

  My second 8 week clinical rotation at an outpatient orthopedic clinic. I examined, diagnosed, and treated patients with a wide range of orthopedic conditions that included the cervical spine, shoulder, lumbar spine, sacroiliac joint, hip, and knee. The clinic focused on treating specific soft tissue needs for each patient using: soft tissue mobilization, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, and cupping.

  For my 4th clinical rotation I spent 12 weeks at Buffalo General Medical Center. The first 6 weeks of my clinical I was in the neuro ICU and neuro step-down unit where I would evaluate patients, with a variety of neurological conditions ,to determine an appropriate discharge recommendation. I would base the recommendation off current functional status, medical condition, and living situation. The second 6 weeks I was in the medical rehab unit(MRU). The MRU is for medically complex patients who demonstrate an excellent potential for rehab. In the unit I would evaluate and develop a plan of care for patients based on their functional needs to return them to their prior level of function and allow safe discharge. Show less
