I shadowed experienced surgeons in the pediatrics department. I did surgical rounds and experienced many surgical procedures in Operation Theatres and was later assigned a research project on Pain Control( Analgesics), where I researched on the different medications given to a patient (Acetaminophen, NSAIDS, Opioids) . Furthermore, I researched on the different routes of administration of the drugs (intrathecal, intravenous, and epidurial), and culminated a 20 page research journal on pain control as a result. Jun 2019 - Jul 2019
      Summer Intern

I had enrolled in the Accelerated Learning Program(ALP). I got to perform many practicals in the lab that were not done in the school. I did gel electrophoresis, mtt assays, isolated dna samples from the saliva, and got to isolate lymphocytes from it by centrifuging the cord blood sample. I also learnt the serial dilution techniques (2 fold, 5 fold, and 10 fold). Examining the stages of mitosis using florescent dyes like Dapi, hookstein, and acridin orange has been an eye-opening experience allowing me to ponder upon the wonders of molecular biology. Also, using a standard graph plotting absorbance values and other concentrations of glucose for same total volume, I can find the protein and carbohydrate content in my food through the use of biuret reagent. Overall, it has been a scintillating experience and further gauges my interest into medicine. Show less

Collected data on 101 visually impaired people going through vocational training through the use of a questionnaire. I will use this data to find the % of people who are visually impaired and have access to employment. I will also use this data in the book titled "Visual Impairment and Access to Employment in India".

Through this book, readers learn the various obstacles faced by the visually impaired and how our society could seek to address these. This book also serves as a reminder for the normal sighted people of India to not look at the visually impaired in India with dread or pity, but instead support their endeavors and support them in their causes. India should rise from their places and become the eyes of the visually impaired and guide them regarding such critical life choices.

    • MATHWITHMINI

      Jun 2020 - Jul 2020
      Mathematics Teacher

In such difficult times during lockdown, one has to find something productive to do in order to maintain a mental balance. I've been helping 11th grade and 12th-grade IB students in mathematics and have taken several zoom classes to do so online. This has taught me several skills like patience, reinforced my own concepts, and has also given me more self-confidence. It was a pleasure to help my own math tutor with her students and strike a mental balance during such precarious times.

.One research project examined the ability of an electrode to stimulate bone regeneration following spinal fusion in rat models, in which decalcifying bone matrix solution was made using EDTA.. Inclusion on Gordon conference authorship list for the presentation my PI (Dr. Andrew Shoffstall) gave. My own figure will be included that shows the Pig PTN experimental schematic showing the flow of information when it comes to stimulating a pig's leg with electrodes with Keithley, oscilloscope signals, and NI DAQ in a synthesized manner. My other significant contribution was to create a RIGOL UI implementation via MATLAB using an app editor that reads continuous pulse data from the Oscilloscope and creates automated csv files with the data. This includes three stages of constructing an oscilloscope class, verifying the settings, and plotting the graph on the UI while changing scales so data can be read while sweeps are taken in surgery room. https://www.shofflab.com/people Show less
