      Apr 2011 - now

Next Generation Learning Challenges is an initiative managed by the not-for-profit organization EDUCAUSE with funding from the Gates and Hewlett Foundations. Its goal is to help lead the redesign of American public education to enable our young people to meet the challenges of life, citizenship, and careers in the 21st century. Its founding assumption is that this redesign process will involve the use of technology as a form of disruptive innovation. NGLC is not about technology, per se -- it's about better, more personalized, more meaningful education and better outcomes for kids. But technology has brought about the redesign and reinvention of other sectors of society... and that process is already happening in public education. The question is: how can we ensure that technology's impacts are as positive as they have the potential to be. Show less
