      As the operation engineer I was fortunate to work in a plant needing extensive and intensive maintenance. As most of the repairs were new and innovative a research and development program was established to extend the life of the coke battery.Non routine gas main repairs, hot refractory repairs and machine upgrades were both challenging and rewarding. Coal blend trails were also conducted to look at the impact of blend on asset life.This role offered a diverse experience in refractory repairs, gas processing, coal preparation and coke battery maintenance and operation.
