    • BBM Clinical Research Ltd.

      Jan 1996 - Jan 2007
      President

After 14 months of initiative and detailed planning, I founded and became President of what would become a very successful private clinical drug trial investigative site as an equal partnership with two successful and well established physicians. With the mission of "quality Research through quality Care", our company was quickly recognized throughout Canada as an ethical, high quality, and productive site conducting Phase 2 and Phase 3 drug trials in various disease states under contract with several well respected multi-national pharmaceutical corporations. When BBM was sold, we had participated in almost 100 studies in collaboration with medical specialists and family doctors, with several drugs successfully approved for use in Canada and the United States. As President and COO, I was responsible for all business and clinical decision making, at all times working with strict GCP standards, Health Canada and FDA approved protocols, and our own SOP's. I acted in various capacities as Investigator, Co-Investigator, and Study Co-ordinator, and was responsible for contracts, line by line budgeting, ethics review board submissions, including approved patient informed consents. I was responsible for all day to day activities, including leases, staffing, salaries, payroll, purchasing, medical equipment, and courier contracts. I ensured that all study related equipment met required standards, and that all study drugs were securely stored and accounted for. I worked closely with our bank and accountant, meeting regularly, and participated in all aspects of year-end reporting. I supervised the work of all staff, and worked closely with all team members for all study audits by sponsor CRA's, CRO's, ethics boards, Health Canada and the FDA. I attended Investigator Meetings, prepared and obtained approval for media advertisements, recruited patient subjects, and obtained approved patient informed consents. Show less
