      From Assistant to Manager

      I started as an assistant for the auditing department in 1992. I was responsible for creating KPMG’s Information Technology Audit practice for the Americas in 1993. Achievements included the consolidation of the first computer assisted audit support center outside of Europe and Asia. I was the youngest international trainer and one of the youngest employees to be appointed Manager.       I was responsible for the sale and execution of several consulting projects for the Nicaraguan Government, under the auspice of the World Bank. The projects envisioned the transformation of the "Instituto Nacional del Seguro Social de Nicaragua" (Nicaraguan Social Security Institute), starting with the separation of the financial and accounting functions from the pension funds, as well as the labor, and health risks areas. The objective was to create a new pension information system. The re- engineering and implementation of a new operation model for the Nicaraguan Social Security Institute was achieved within a year. The project received an award from the World Bank. Mostrar menos As Consulting Manager, the main duties performed were the creation and consolidation of a Health and Public Sector consulting practice for Central America, Colombia, and Venezuela. During this period, several activities were done regarding market scope, project detection, strategic alliance development with different market providers, and customization of proposed methodologies. I was responsible for negotiations held with the Venezuelan and Colombian fuel companies, each amounting to over US $30 million.
