  Roustabout/Deck Foreman

  I began working in the North Sea as a roustabout on the TARTAN Platform. As a roustabout, I have gained an OPITO approved Greenhands course, which also included Helicopter awareness. I also completed a course to become a fire emergency response team member. Due to working on Talisman sites, I have completed levels 1 and 2 of the Talisman permit to work system. My job included the safe and proper rigging and slinging of all loads lifted and moved by the deck cranes and other lifting equipment to include various operational components and equipment, supplies, containers, tubular and other materials utilized in the daily functioning of the oilrig as directed by the crane operator. During non-crane operational modes, my work activity included various maintenance work on the platform, including painting ,cleaning and mixing of chemicals. Show less

  Working as a roughneck, I have gained experience and knowledge of a wide range of drilling assemblies (BHA), and other downhole tools. Also, I regularly operate and inspect all drilling tools and equipment. As a team, we carry out the drilling operation under the direction of the Driller. This particular job requires a great deal of co-ordination between me and my team. Additionally, hard physical effort is also required; therefore it is important for me to maintain a good standard of physical fitness. It is also vital that I remain fully committed to working safely at all times, in accordance with HSE policy, and complying with the permit to work, and the stop system, at all times. My duties also included assisting in the training of roustabouts, working in the Shaker Room and maintenance work on the drilling equipment and on the drill floor. Show less

  Prepare and measure BHA / downhole tool lengths ODs/IDs and fishnecks . Ensure DP tallys are updated and lengths manually checked. Check offload and backload for any new/damaged pipe daily. Fill out Well control kill sheets as per company procedures. Ensure the Driller/Tourpusher has Jarring sheets at hand with max/min tensile strengths ,weakest connections and weight below jar so lengths can be added as necessary .Fill out and check Trip in/out sheets ,Tag Figures.
