  I began my warehousing career with Shades of Light in 1999 when it was a small mail order catalog company. I started on the front line, picking and packing. Before I was there for a year I was granted the opportunity to run Receiving and soon discovered that I truly enjoyed being able to contribute on a supervisory and administrative level. Throughout my 22 year career I've led small frontline teams, a full distribution operation, and most recently directed distribution operations through multiple department managers and across multiple shifts. I participated in carrier contract negotiations with UPS and FedEx and have a firm understanding of how both small package and LTL shipment characteristics affect pricing. I worked jointly with Company Officers to develop cost effective IB and Drop-ship routing guides. I worked collaboratively with FedEx packaging engineers to significantly reduce FedEx Ground claim rates on high damage items. I became a certified lift truck trainer experienced with order picker, forklift, as well as turret truck operation. Was responsible for running facilities maintenance programs on all dock equipment, fire protection/sprinkler systems, and other mechanical systems.
