    • Ford of Ventura

      Oct 2019 - Aug 2021
      Executive Assistant

Ford of Ventura is a smaller dealership that looks to uphold "Main Street" values while connecting with the local community. This role was where I learned how to lead effectively even when I was the youngest in the department. Although I was learning a lot from the technicians and service writers, I was still in charge of a lot of tasks such as the filing process and the COVID cleaning protocol. With the filing process, I was tasked with completely reconstructing it. When I first started working the entire back wall of the service department was blocked by stacks of papers waiting to be filed. I looked for more effective and efficient ways to file the papers. I was regularly the fastest filer which reduced the stack about 50% faster than anyone else in the department. In regard to the COVID cleaning protocol, I led the team within the service department and the showroom floor. This is where I was really able to learn how to lead despite being younger than everyone on my team. I learned how to balance respecting those that are older than me while also commanding attention and making sure that the work was getting done on time. Show less

    • Duarte, Inc.

      Jul 2020 - Aug 2020
      Legal Assistant

Duarte, Inc. is a communication firm looking to connect through presentations and inspire through speeches.Throughout this internship, I was mainly building on a lot of skills that I already had from organizations that I participated in during high school, but I was able to learn how to be an effective employee/team member in a virtual setting. As this took place pretty early on in the pandemic, I really had no clue how to be efficient and work well with others on zoom. My teachers at school did not demand much group work once we went online which meant I never had time to learn that. However, in this role, I was able to figure out that consistent communication was one of the keys to remote work. I quickly learned that my supervisor and other team members needed daily updates to make sure I was getting my work done but also so that they knew what they could work on. Our tasks built on each other, so communication was needed to make sure that we could be as efficient as possible.Although this is not a skill I learned, it is a value that I further developed. One of the main tasks that I completed was filing for Diversity Supplier Programs at Fortune 500 programs. I learned how important it was to have a diverse workforce. It was something that I valued in the past but started to pursue once having this internship. It was a matter of being active versus being passive in maintaining a diverse team. Show less

    • Duarte, Inc.

      May 2022 - Sept 2022
      Research Intern

Duarte, Inc. is a communication firm looking to connect through presentations and inspire through speeches.I was fortunate enough to intern at Duarte as a researcher over the 2022 summer. I was able to continue developing my communication skills in both a presentation setting as well as an interpersonal one. I was also able to develop my research skill and build on what I learned throughout debate in high school. My communication skills were really tested during this internship because I was regularly required to share my findings with the CEO and other project heads. This created a high-pressure scenario because I needed to efficiently communicate my ideas as they did not have a ton of time to meet and wanted the biggest patterns. I also was able to learn a lot about how to present because of going through 700+ investor slide decks. I discovered patterns that tended to make decks more effective which I can use in the future for my own presentations.I was able to further develop my research skills. Going into the position, I knew the basics of research from being the Team Captain of my debate team in high school, but I was introduced to a whole new world of databases throughout the process. I quickly learned that just looking at a few articles was not enough which opened the door for me to get deep into databases and look into what felt like every option. I received direct guidance from the CEO on better ways to research which was extremely helpful as I was able to learn from someone who has more than proficient skills in research. Show less

    • Robert J. Coury Applied Leadership Program - USC Marshall School of Business

      Jan 2023 - now
      Student Mentor

The Robert J. Coury Leadership program is dedicated to helping first-year business students identify and apply their strengths. After going through this program during my freshman year, I was thrilled to return as a mentor. In this role, I have learned how to write lesson plans. Every month we have large group sessions and small group sessions where the mentors are in charge of teaching students how to identify their strengths in their everyday life.I have been able to develop my mentorship skills through this program as well because of meeting with my mentees. I regularly meet with them to better understand where they are at in their career/academic journey. Based on what they tell me, I help develop action plans for the SMART goals that they set at the beginning of each semester. Show less
