  During my time as a waitress and bartender at this popular Cotswolds pub I developed an excellent standard of customer service. I strove to give each customer the best experience in the pub by anticipating issues before they arise, efficiently prioritising multiple tasks under pressure, and engaging with the customers.I believe the most important part of customer service (and my favourite) is the opportunity to form relationships and connect with people from all walks of life, and I aim to use these insights to improve the customer's experience.   Au Pair

  As a live-in au pair, I cared for four children between the ages of 4-13 and was also responsible for housekeeping. Reliability and initiative were crucial in inspiring the trust of my employers and hosts.The experience was a steep learning curve in intercultural communication and essential to my development of German fluency. I integrated into German family life, learning customs and conventions whilst also attending German classes (B1.2-C1.2) as a part of my contract, thus ensuring the accuracy of my German knowledge developed alongside my spoken fluency.A high-level of resilience, adaptability, and emotional tact were necessary in what was a hugely rewarding role.   English Language Assistant

  I taught children (aged 14-18) in two Austrian schools about British culture and the English language as a a part of the British Council's Language Assistant scheme. I ran conversation classes, activities and gave presentations with the aim of challenging and encouraging the students in their English ability. My focus throughout was to build their confidence and ambition when speaking English. I collaborated with a large team of English teachers, adapting content and methods to support the aims of my individual colleagues. This ranged from having complete freedom over topic and delivery method, to working closely with the syllabus and reliable textbooks. Short-notice of the teacher's expectations meant that I had to be impeccably prepared, knowing the subject inside-out and ready to implement a variety of exercises for classes ranging from 25+ boisterous 13yo boys, to a handful of studious 18 year olds. I spent one month performing this role in a physical classroom environment. In March 2020, my teaching responsibilities moved online due to lockdown measures enforced across Austria. This required me to rethink the entire structure of my lessons, taking into account the obstacles to communication inherent in online interaction. I shortened my lessons to account for virtual fatigue, and gave one-on-one sessions to that each child had an opportunity to truly engage. Show less
