  Being a great fan of skiing since I was 3 years old, I have started my professional career as an overseas ski resort administrator for First Choice Holidays, part of Tui Travel Group, one of the largest travel and tourism group in the world.As an overseas operations administrator, my role involved varied administration tasks from customer service to the management of sales representatives, local suppliers, transport providers and hotelliers.After my first winter season with First Choice in the french Alps, I have received some great feedback from my line manager and have been offered an overseas administrative position in the Dominican Republic where I have been provided with further responsibilities including the management and coordination of weddings, international flight bookings and organising local excursions. At that time, Tui Travel Plc was merging with Thomson (UK) and Signature Holidays (Canada) meaning the team had to make considerable efforts to adapt quickly to new standards and protocols. After this second experience, I have then been offered a position to work as a travel advisor for Thomson UK within the largest branch of Newcastle-upon-Tyne located in Northumberland Street. My role was to advise on holidays through brochures and assist customers to organise their dream holidays while achieving targets set by the general branch manager.Overall, my first work experiences in the field of travel and tourism within the group have been very positive, and I have been very proud to work with such a group where opportunities were endless given the size of the venture. Sadly, as the company was willing to send me back to the dominican republic and due to other commitments, my contract came to an end as I was expecting to join the business board through the junior apprenticeship program that was available within the company for which the list of external candidates was exhaustive and selection extremely competitive.   After being contracted by many businesses as a self-employed translator, interpreter and private tutor, I decided to create a business in the field of linguistics at Cobalt Business Park in association with the Chartered Institute Of Linguists. As a sole self-employed business manager, I have been teaching languages to students and business professionals, transcribing and subtitling DVDs, performing face to face interpreting for firms of solicitors and jobcentres, acting as a voice over artist for adverts and videos, translating technical documents, while participating in 3-way conference telephone calls as an interpreter for the Department of Work and Pensions, the HMRC, the National Health Services, Social Services, the National Police, Customs and Immigration, along with several international businesses requiring an official french to english interpreter.Establishing a new venture also required all the necessary business related skills such as accounting, negociations, administration, customer service, legal and tax duties. This experience has helped me to develop my sense of innovation by producing new tools and improving some of the systems that were in place and I believe this has been much appreciated by my senior managers as well as the team of advisors themselves.   As an Overseas Operations Assistant Manager for a multitude of ski resorts located in France, Switzerland and Austria, my responsibilities were vary varied ranging from the management of the resort managers, managing the inventories of over hundreds of chalets, checking the accounting process of the assistant resort managers, dealing with a large fleet of vehicles to organise transportation of customers to and from the resort, airport or train stations, and many other duties, the list is exhaustive! While I was in London I have been helping the team to prepare the season, products, incentives and did some lectures for the resort management teams.Powder White is a very friendly family company to work with that cares for the well being of its employees providing lots of perks such as transport, accomodation and the opportunity to go skiing out in the mountain every day!   As an International Cultural Community Manager for the annual Folklore Festival of Terres de Saone County Council in France, I have been responsible for the marketing and online promotion of the event, while acting as the official photographer and cameraman over 10 consecutive days. This experience has helped me to develop skills in the field of community management through networking, web content management, event planning and coordination. I have created video-clips for the festival using Pinnacle Studio 9 software to promote the event and thanks to everyone in the team we have managed to beat all the records with over 35,000 visitors who came to enjoy the festivities, world food, music, cultures and have a great time.
