      DB International was a Romanian software development company owned by the Dutch company DataBalk, specialized in developing ERP and CRM software products for the Real Estate industry.I joined DB International as a junior C++ developer and for the first year I worked on a document and workflow management solution fully integrated with Microsoft Outlook.       QCNS was at that time a leading player on the European e-tourism market and a competitor for Expedia. The company had it's own software development team for all it's internal applications as well as it's online booking and travel solutions.I joined QCNS as a Senior C# developer and worked on the backoffice development team, I've contributed to the initial requirements and oversaw the development of all the internal software products used by QCNS through all stages from initial design to final release and support cycle (call-center operations management app, online reservations management system, hotel contracts and financial operations management systems etc).       I am responsible in managing multiple development teams as part of the same program initiative, a partnership with ST iDirect in developing new features and maintaining existing ones for their satellite communication network management software systems. My role is a mix of a program manager for maintaining the program from OSF resources point-of-view and acting as an engineering manager on iDirect side. The program uses ~28 developers split across 5 teams on 3 continents working as an agile unit using SAFeMain responsibilites:- manage one other technical lead and one project manager to plan and execute project objectives, provide accurate estimates, define features and priorities- directly manage one of the development teams (~10 devs)- refine technical requirements, work with the team on proposing a technical solution- provide technical know-how and expertise to the team as needed via code reviews and the occasional hands-on coding or debugging assistance- coordinate with other teams from 7 countries- peform team evaluations, manage career paths, establish growth objectives for team members- manage staffing requirements, allocate resources, perform technical hiring interviews- establish guidelines and development processes to increase the team's efficiency - maintain customer relation and align business objectives between OSF and its partner- review contracts, keep budget and costs under control- assist sales team in formulating proposals with estimates and technical solutionsTech stack and skills: - SQL (Postgresql)- JavaScript (AngularJS, node.js)- Perl, Python- C++ - Linux (RHEL), - virtualization (vSphere, AWS)- CI/CD via Jenkins- Agile Scrum/SAFe- team management, program management- technical design and architecture proposals Show less My promotion to project manager meant that I took charge of the whole program of software products that OSF was developing for a US customer on the education and e-learning area. Products included college and university portals, student guidance and counseling apps, carrer advice, alumni peformance tracking, assisting students with college applications, managing e-learning content.The program was under my management between 2010 and 2013 and consisted of several development teams for each product and one QA team for the whole program. Total team size was on average 40 with a peak on 2012 of 90 people.Between 2014 and 2015 I helped re-organize the OSF division in charge of financial integrations using Intacct (now Sage).From 2015 I started work on a collaboration between OSF and iDirect on adding new features to a large-scale network management system (Pulse) used by satellite operators. I enabled the growth of the partnership between OSF and iDirect to a program level with multiple development teams. My main responsibilities were coordinating the team, handling the business requirement analysis, proposing a mutually-agreed upon technical solution, working with the team on the system architecture design and providing estimates and costs for the customer.
