Competing against 130 nominations from around ABB globally, Andreas Synnos, Miron Joseph, Steve Lancaster and Adewale Ilesanmi, all based in Aberdeen, were commended by the judging panel for their proactive approach to raising safety and security concerns on… Show more UK win for CEO’s Service Safety Award2016-03-14 - The UK’s ongoing commitment to health and safety was rewarded recently with a team from the UK Oil, Gas and Chemical business (OGC) winning the 2015 CEO's Service Safety Award. Competing against 130 nominations from around ABB globally, Andreas Synnos, Miron Joseph, Steve Lancaster and Adewale Ilesanmi, all based in Aberdeen, were commended by the judging panel for their proactive approach to raising safety and security concerns on their first overseas assignment. The team developed and implemented a robust communications protocol between the UK and the remote location to reduce the risks of recurrence of safety concerns. Following implementation, colleagues travelling out to the site from the UK or travelling to the secure accommodation all experienced significant improvements in security as a result of the teams efforts. Cameron Fyffe, Service Manager for OGC in the UK, who accepted the award on behalf of the team at the Group Leadership Forum, in Zurich said “This is a fantasticachievement for the team, particularly Andreas, Steve, Vincent & Miron, who demonstrated maturity beyond their years. This will inspire and drive many to stay safe and intervene in the future.” Ian Funnell, Country MD added his congratulations "This is one of the most inspirational safety stories I’ve heard in a long time, for two reasons.
