  In my role as a Technology Consultant at Waterstons Ltd, my work is primarily divided into three areas:ISO 27001 Implementation: I am currently the Lead Implementer for Waterstons ISO 27001 initiative. This role focuses primarily on process analysis, policy creation, approval and review, risk assessment, user/security awareness training, Continual Improvement of the ISMS and general ISO 27001 advice and consultancy to the rest of the business. This project requires me to regularly present project updates and business impact at both a company wide comms and Board level, and to aid in the formulation, planning and execution of technical and non-technical risk treatments.Site Management: I currently carry out Site Management duties for a local charity, Willowburn Hospice. My responsibilities emulate those of a resident IT Manager, including the provision of onsite support, Service Desk escalation and assistance, infrastructure installation, configuration and maintenance (including Server and network infrastructure), incident management, user IT training and consultancy.Service Desk Support: Through a combination of reactive and proactive support, I provide 1st and 2nd line support to a significantly varied and international client base, using a variety of monitoring and remote assistance tools to conduct incident management, remote support and problem management on critical infrastructure. This experience consistently provides exposure to a huge variety of technologies, from Hyper V, VMware and Citrix, to networking, security and system management products; in particular Cisco and Riverbed networking solutions, Sophos anti-virus and firewall applications, Active Directory and SCCM. The role also provides exposure to SharePoint, SQL Server and is heavily focused on both SME and Enterprise-level Windows environments. This ranged from traditional software development and support, to client interaction, requirements gathering and project planning. Breaking out from the traditional development approach, my role focused heavily on interpersonal communication and knowledge sharing, with a People First approach to every aspect of business. I dealt primarily with Microsoft technologies, with a heavy emphasis on the .Net Framework, SQL Server and SharePoint platforms, from both a web and traditional desktop application development perspective.
