  Responsible for the safety security, maintenance and development of the whole school site, and to ensure the school complies with all health and safety regulations.A very large comprehensive school with around 1650 pupils and 150 staff.Monitoring the general condition of the school’s buildings and grounds to ensure that good standards of maintenance, decoration, security, safety and cleanliness are achieved.Preparing and presenting plans to the Headteacher and Governors regarding the maintenance, refurbishment and upgrade of the site, together with estimates. Compiling a list of costed projects annually for consideration when setting the annual budget and for inclusion in the school improvement plan.To manage the premises and painting budgets on a day to day basis, negotiating with service providers, contractors and suppliers to ensure best value is obtained. Maintain adequate records to monitor spend in these areas.As the school’s designated Health and Safety Officer, monitoring the status of the school site in respect of Health and Safety to ensure that high standards are maintained, hazards identified and addressed and that all statutory requirements are met in the area of Health and Safety.
