  Worked as a research assistant for a scoping review summarizing findings from peer-reviewed research studies that examined the effects of structural racism on the availability of large (i.e., grocery stores, supermarkets, and supercenters) and small (i.e., corner stores, gas stations, dollar stores, and liquor stores) food retailers in the U.S. This review describes the various manifestations of structural racism that are prevalent in food retail literature and identify knowledge gaps for future consideration. Results from this review will inform future policies and initiatives aiming to dismantle structural barriers to healthy food access and reduce nutritional inequities by race/ethnicity. Show less
