Jan 2014 - Apr 2014Architectural internAs an intern, my responsibilities included preparing architectural drawings (designing facade, generating floor plans and contributing partially to the interior design) of several residence projects. As part of the design process, I made several physical models and have critique sessions with the principal architect, to discuss changes to the projects. Additionally, I also prepared construction drawings, often communicating with the site engineer during site visits to explain project specifications. I also visited completed projects with the principal architect and documented them for the firm's website through photography. Type of projects I contributed during the internship: Multi-storied residence, Army Headquarter's Multipurpose Hall and residential hostels. Show less

Aug 2017 - Dec 2018My research focus was to develop an understanding of resilience, as relevant in the design field. This was done by a thorough literature review of resilience and case-study analysis of resilient competitions across United States and overseas (such as Rebuild by Design, Resilient by Design-San Francisco Bay Area, 100 Resilient cities). The main idea behind studying these competitions was to develop an understanding of what constitutes the design process that facilitates planning for resilience. Important elements include collaboration structure, 'design' of the design process, the type of research that feeds such a system, etc. These findings were further analyzed to identify their applicability into solving flooding problems in riverine communities of Pennsylvania. Show less As a teaching assistant for Visual Communications course for first year undergraduate studio, my job was to make sure students got a wholesome understanding of architectural drawings and principles. My role in this course included helping students with their drawings, explaining whenever they sought help, trying to improve their shortcomings through active communication during and after class hours. Additionally, I graded their work, including critical feedback to help them improve their quality of work. Show less
