      Accountable for project management of CapEx portfolio (and OpEx related) for the Head of Warehouse, Inventory and Logistics (WIL), in the Vice-presidency of Supply at BHP Minerals Americas Assets (Escondida, Spence and Cerro Colorado copper mining companies, which together they represent ~ 7% of word production with more than 1.4 million of copper tons annually). This role considered an integrated work in a global position (Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, USA and Chile) with internal stakeholders (Heads of Projects, Finance, Maintenance) and external ones (Contractors, Government) to complete requirements and achieve approval for Identification and Pre Execution project phases. The main responsibilities and achievements during this period were:• Assessing and managing CapEx project to be presented to Capital Steer Committees, consolidating these in a Five-Year-Plan (5YP) pipeline for the Head of WIL. This considered budget of USD 10 million, mainly in infrastructure and equipment renewals for warehousing.• Assessing and managing selection phases and resources approval for a massive return of maintenance materials to the working capital inventory in Escondida (largest world copper mine), in which the project target were USD 50 million in Mobile Equipment and Fixed Plant materials stored in non-authorized yards. The resources approved were estimated in USD 10 million during 18 months, distributed in OpEx (Logistics contractors) and CapEx (increasing of warehouse capacity).• Developing of the internal strategy for WIL Projects and Operational Readiness, defining targets and plan for next 2 years according business requirements. This work was developed in coordination with the Area Manager and team members across BHP locations. Mostrar menos Accountable for the implementation of improvement initiatives and projects related to the Head of Warehouse, Inventory and Logistics, in the Vice-presidency of Supply at BHP Minerals Americas Assets (Escondida, Spence, Cerro Colorado). This role had an integrated work with global teams in BHP (Australia, Singapore, USA and Chile), in areas as Technology and Continuous Improvement:• Project execution of an Inventory Stocktaking for the total of working capital material warehouses of Minerals Americas. Executed by a contractor selected through competitive bidding, the project scope considered over 42.000 SKU valuated in ~USD 200 million, to be counted during 6 months and distributed in (storage area ~300.000 sq. mts.). As result, the project executed inventory financial adjustments (contributing the with stock accuracy targets).• Project study called “Shadow Organizations”, which target was the diagnosis of the activities and resources supported by Maintenance as internal client. As output, the Head of WIL had to increase in labor and equipment, in line to improve the material delivery service levels agreement (SLA). This initiative was part of “World Class Functions Project”, which considered a complete review of Supply Global Strategy and Structure Optimization.• Implementation of the first phase for mobile technology use applied to logistics and warehousing tasks, through a change management in how warehouse operators started to work using SAP ERP modules through mobile cellphones and printers. The project scope considered the training of 50 workers, supported by a Main User team (warehouse operators trained to be capable to teach to their own teams on site).• Delivering a “current-state” study related to Remote Logistic Management (RLM), which is the SAP ERP module that connects the inbound logistics from 3PL (OpEx contracts over USD 20 million/year) to the final warehousing in the mine sites (3 operations; 42.000 SKU valuated in ~USD 200 million). The main responsibilities and achievements during this period were:• Managing the warehouse and transport for Escondida Organic Project Growth 1 (OGP1), which it has built the second production line for the largest copper concentrate plant in the world (EPCM project by Bechtel as agent constructor, with CapEx purchases over USD 2.000 million). Estimated in more than 40 hectares of material storage yards, managing warehouse contractors with a peak of 50 FTE. • OGP1 surplus materials selling to internal CapEx projects in BHP, generating savings in terms of USD 1.1 million. As additional, I have worked in a trial program for external auction with an external contractor (revenues approx. of USD 0,1 million)• Run an assessment trial program of software Smart Plant Materials (ERP to manage material expediting and warehousing for CapEx projects).• Control management to support the BHP Warehouse & Logistics Manager (scorecard and monthly KPI of area annual program).       Sabbatical

      The original plan was to travel abroad with my wife for 2 years (starting on March 21), planned with more than 3 years in advance. However, we had to suspend it due to the COVID-19 world crisis.However, we took advantage of this situation, and fortunately, we had the opportunity to live with our family in the south of Chile (Los Angeles, 8th region).
