  - Undertook a 14-month-long placement year at Micropathology LTD.- Micropathology is one of the UK’s largest diagnostics laboratories. - Single-handedly led the DNA and RNA extraction of all Hepatitis and GUM samples. - DNA/RNA extraction was conducted using the ThermoFisher KingFisher FLEX and Qiagen BioRobot MDx.- Directly involved in the nucleic extraction and qPCR testing of samples for SARS-CoV-2 detection.- Undertook a 14-month-long human identification research project. - My research aimed to increase DNA extraction concentration and quality from degraded human remains for DNA profiling and analysis.- Have experience in DNA sequencing, STR loci analysis, gel electrophoresis, and fragment analysis. - Significantly streamlined laboratory processes to reduce time & increase efficiency. - Dealt with clinical waste (e.g. autoclaves) according to the SOPs. - Wrote lab reports during my research project and produced a scientific poster.   - Undertook a mandatory 12-month GP placement at Kings Road Medical Centre. - During Term 1, I shadowed GPs, PAs, and nurses during their consultations. - During Term 2, I saw patients in my clinic whilst shadowed by my GP supervisor. - During Term 3, I saw patients in my clinic and debriefed every patient with my GP supervisor.
