My previous personal, educational, professional, and continuing experiences allowed me to develop a better understanding of my skillset and motivated me to transition away from the Masters pathway to becoming a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist by alternatively taking the equivalency pathway. The graduate program helped me develop my passion for culturally-based and outdoor therapeutic activities specifically for individuals marginally impacted by race and ability through community engagement services. The equivalency path will allow me to still pursue my goal of becoming a CTRS with additional specializations encompassing and upholding supportive therapeutic practices involving herbalism, agriculture, wellness practices, and social justice education.
