  I worked for Bikerdean for experience for a year, until I began to get paid. After 2 months of being paid I was given a Key and then ran the shop for 6 months until semptember when I recommended to the owners to shut the shop down due to no customer revenue. My roles included any repairs, bicycle and motorcycle, maintenance of the shop and outside, customer relations, direct money handling and till management, and managing any staff or work experience personel.   After shutting the shop I used to run I began to run my own bicycle repair business. This was a mobile business where I would go to the customers house and repair the bicycle there. I was able to create a catalouge of regular customers that recommend me to their friends. I am part of a cycling group where I am the mechanic, and will be holding work shops to teach them basic and advanced skills for maintaining their own equipment. I have also been to triathlons as the safety advisor where I safety checked bikes and equipments before they are used. This is a growing business and in time I do hope to open a small shop where I can sell wares and provide services to the general public. Show less

  Starting at Chep as an agency staff member, I quickly learned it was a company I was happy to work and progress with. I quickly put pressure on my superiors to attain a contract. After being awarded my contract I pushed myself to ensure I met all my targets, whilst maintaining a high level of quality, and ensuring I was safe whilst doing so. I decided I wanted to progress and used my spare time to learn other aspects of the job, including the Merge and the Klippa; proving to be just as capable as my co-workers. When the G400 became operational, for my shift, I requested that I be given the opportunity to run the plant with our trainer. After time passed I was given effective control of the plant and managed numerous teams. After training a new Machine Minder to my level, we are consistently achieving both bench and inspection targets. I am also responsible for the safety and well-being of team members, making sure they are working safely, in a clean working area, and wearing the correct PPE.• Managing team performance by training, mentoring and motivating team members.• Planned, scheduled, and delegated daily tasks, to ensure correct start-up and shutdown procedures are adhered to.• Proven to effectively meet demanding production goals consistently.• Utilized control mechanisms and manual procedures to safely operate machines.• Set up and performed test activities, assessing equipment function and quickly rectifying errors.• Adhered to warehouse regulations consistently for safe working environments.• Reporting any new, or known faults for repair or planned maintenance.
