  I worked as a volunteer for the American Red Cross while my husband was stationed in the Phillipines as an advanced first aid and emergency CPR instructor. During my time, I also completed a surgical sterilization course and volunteered at Clark Air Force Hospital in the surgical supply center. All positions were on a volunteer basis due to Base treaty requiring local nationals be given all applicable paid positions.

  I was responsible for being the representative for the wives to the chain of command and from the chain of command to the wives. I kept in touch with wives of deployed servicemen to ensure their needs were met, both physically and psychologically.
