  I trained with a diverse community of university peers to prepare a smooth and fun transition for first-year students. I became a support system for them to feel safe with and ask questions as they were progressing towards this new stage in their lives. Learning all about campus resources and relaying them to these incoming students and making them as familiar as possible with a new environment was a top priority for me. I supervised students who were deferring, transferring, coming from out-of-state, all with different ideas of what college would look like for them. It was a rewarding experience for me to be able to support and guide these students and make the shift to college life a little less challenging and scary. Show less
