  Activities and Societies: Lin Lab (research on plant cryptochromes) Yukai Daiko at UCLA (Japanese drumming) Japanese American Conversation and Cultural Exchange Nikkei Student Union The Molecular, Cell and Developmental Biology major equips students with a deep understanding of molecular processes involved in cell function and differentiation. The plant-microbe laboratory immersion course I took provided hands-on experience in bacterial assays and identification. I had been volunteering as an undergraduate researcher in a molecular biology lab since the summer of 2013, assisting my principal investigator in studying proteolysis of the plant photoreceptor CRY2.
