      Coding Instructor

I taught a basic HTML coding class to kids ages 8-16 during the summer of 2015 for Girls with STEAM which is a nonprofit that strives to encourage young girls to pursue Science, Technology, Art, and Math. Having to simplify complex coding languages to a kid-friendly level was a challenging yet rewarding experience.

      Founder

Yes Her Studio is a collaborate effort of 4 young women providing protective styles for men and women in the triangle area since 2015.As a founder and lead stylist, my role entails:- Determining our key performance indicators to create a formula to track our long term performance.- Developing and implementing marketing strategies during our monthly performance tracking meetings. Strategies include new client outreach: Researching the behaviors and tendencies of untapped markets and tailoring our social media strategy to reach them. This helped us grow our clientele from 60 to 200 within the span of 1 year.- Implementing a long term customer retention strategy: First time clients complete our 4 step Yes Her Starter Kit program, in which our team assesses the client's hair history, determines their problem areas, and tailors a solution for long term hair health through a hair care routine and protective style.Next, we work to build a strong trusting client-stylist relationship through regular check ins on the style and the progress of the advised routine and customer feedback surveys. The data collected from these surveys allow us to constantly improve the customer experience, thus ensuring their return.-Tailoring specific marketing and retention strategies to niche customers, to grow influence and reach.-Entrepreneurial networking and collaboration with local small businesses. • ISpace Foundation

      Jun 2016 - Aug 2016
      Project Manager

As an intern at iSpace, I launched two new programs for the community that would increase digital literacy for both women and children. -The Unlocking Women and Technology (UWAT) aimed to educate women on various technological and design tools to help them sustain and grow their entrepreneurial ventures. The Phoenix Project was a summer long program for kids that taught them the basic coding concepts behind the technology they constantly use. -For both projects, I conducted research to learn the pain and frustration points of those we aimed to serve, in order to fully fulfill their needs through the programs. Working in Ghana gave me a global perspective on how to work with various cultures and people to solve big problems. Show less
