  Along with the ministry, I also enjoyed working in Law Enforcement. I, of course began as a patrolman, patroling the streets of the city and county, answering calls, working traffic, etc. However, I eventually worked my way up to become eligable to take the Sergeant's test, which I took, scored the highest, and was promoted. I was put in charge of the Day Watch, Uniform Division. But, I felt led by the Holy Spirit, to move into the ministry full-time in 1993. So at the age of 40 or 41, I had to go back to school for 5 more years. Show less

  Local Pastor

  I served as a Local Pastor for 17 years. In the UMC. The pastoral ministry is an itinerant ministry, whereby the pastor is appointed to serve a particular Church or Churches, each June. He or she may be reappointed and return to the same Church, or he or she may be moved to another Church. I was the pastor of one Church 11 years, another one for 1 year, and the last one for 5 years, before retiring and going back to the Baptist Church, where I was ordained to preach the gospel, in 1982.
