  Working within NGV Business development, the initial focus of this role was on the suite of Multi-Purpose Interconnector Projects (MPIs) before it changed to the Carbon Capture Usage and Storage (CCUS) project. Supporting the development of the company’s first CO¬2 pipeline involved re-skilling in pipeline construction and utilising previous capital project development knowledge to deliver technical assurance for the project. Key tasks in this role are: management of technical drawing contractors, reviewing pipeline safety documentation, supporting the tender process and appointment of Front End Engineering Design (FEED) contractors, planning sustainable construction policies and logistical planning. Show less Chosen via a recommendation from a senior manager for a newly created role, this allowed the opportunity to build the role’s responsibilities from the ground up and direct NGV’s Net Zero strategy at a key time. The role involved baselining multiple departments’ current Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions and supporting them in creating strategies to reduce their carbon footprint inline with their operational requirements and future needs. Clear communication and adherence to external deadlines were key to ensuring success in this job, especially when ensuring the deadlines were achievable for those collecting data and analysing it. Show less The Viking Link Project is a Joint Venture interconnector in construction between GB and Danish electricity networks. Key tasks in this role were: Interface management for the GB based construction projects, CEEQUAL sustainability award preparation and evidence collection, programme management and technical assurance for an onsite solar generation farm. This role gave great insight into the challenges of constructing a large scale infrastructure project as well as contractor interfaces and onshore project delivery. Show less Ahead of NGV’s detailed development of future MPI projects there is both market and technical research required to understand the supply chain availability for HVDC projects. In this role the key tasks were: Understanding the production capacity for high voltage cables globally and investigating the likelihoods of other publicised projects being developed and constructed on their stated schedule.
