  Assigned to the Fire Marshal's Office where I spent 8 years as a Fire Investigator and 3 years as a Fire Code Official inspecting a variety of commercial buildings, multi-family residences, and downtown high-rise buildings. I also spent 1 year I specializing in Fire Plans Review to approve new construction, renovated projects, and the installation of fire sprinklers and fire alarms systems.Some of my accomplishments in the FM's office include: Designed/wrote the first official "Fire Investigation Unit Training Program" for PF&R.Revised several Policies and Operational Guidelines regarding fire investigations and fire code enforcement practices.Assisted in re-writing the Portland Fire Code, as amendments to the International Fire Code and Oregon Fire Code.Designed drill material for firefighters regarding their assistance in fire investigations. My firefighting assignments included: working downtown in high-rise district; driver/apparatus operator of engine, truck and tiller; fire-boat deckhand; and specialty rescue teams.
