  Community Volunteer

  I worked as a volunteer patient assistant. This position allowed me to work in multiple areas of the hospital, including two specialty care pavilions (Francis and Smith Pavilions). In Francis Pavilion, I assisted visitors coming to see patients by escorting them to patients' rooms. I also did mail deliveries and discharges of patients. In Smith Pavilion, I assisted patients coming in for procedures by checking them in and escorting them to the respective offices or waiting areas. I also volunteered in Same Day Surgery, where I would check in, prep, and discharge patients and update family members of statues during an individuals surgery. I volunteered in the Emergency Room and Endoscopic Department as well. Show less

  I worked as patient care assistant. I reviewed the medical records of female patients over thirty-five years old and determined the date of their last annual mammogram. If they were not up to date, I would contact them and remind them of the procedure and subsequently ask if they were interested in scheduling one with the clinic.
