      Resident Engineer for four lane concrete highway re-construction projects (slip-form and form methods), asphalt highway re-construction projects, asphalt patch and re-surface, concrete patching and traffic signal modernizations. Each project varied from 1-5 miles in length. Performed all pre-construction planning, utility planning, village relations, overall inspection, pay estimate submittals, change order submittals, field design changes, contractor relations, public relations and final calculations. Also gained experience as a Student Project Engineer in construction (Summers of 1997, 1998, and 1999-2000) and a Highway Engineer in drainage design for 6 months.Projects completed as a Resident Engineer include: Central Ave., Olympian Way, Vollmer Road, Steger Road, Ashland Ave., 87th St., Western Ave., State and Main, State Street and Michigan City Road. Highest monetary value on a single project was $5 million. Dan Ryan Express Lanes from 71st to 31st. Included excavation of the existing roadway, removal/replacement of all storm sewer (mainline and junction chambers), C.R.C. pavement, barrier wall, superstructure, bridge pier improvements, lug systems and more.Local - Two contracts totaling 4.7 miles involving re-construction of all pavement, ramps, retaining walls and drainage on the N.B. lanes. Assisted with overall inspection, plan review, enforcement of specifications, pay estimate review and documentation and was acting P.M. for work performed during summer 2012. Five miles of roadway were widened to three lanes and ten bridges were re-constructed, two of which were a mile in length. Wedge and Level/Bridge Repairs - Managed the $16.3 Million rehabilitation of the ITR roadways and bridges at various locations within a 157 mile range. Supervised all field operations and completed final calculations, documentation and paperwork. Field work included rehabilitation of 19 bridges, pneumatic concrete repair, deck patching, approach slab repair, epoxy resin injection, bearing replacement, milling/paving, patching and striping. Indiana Toll Road Annual Inspections/NBIS Annual Bridge InspectionsInspection, evaluation, documentation and reporting of all roadway, lighting and maintenance items within 157 miles of roadway. NBIS bridge inspections involved the evaluation/rating of all bridges within 3 counties on the Indiana Toll Road.Other Projects/DutiesConstruction Engineering on CDOT Arterial Resurfacing project, Village of Schaumburg and Cal Sag Trail improvements. After initially being certified for open water I moved up to achieve the certifications for Advanced OW Diver, Rescue Diver, Divemaster, Asst. Instructor and finally Open Water SCUBA Instructor. I'm also certified for Enriched Air Nitrox, Emergency Oxygen Provider and am an Emergency First Response Instructor.
