  Championed the development, implementation and coordination of managed care contracting and related activities for the three hospital systems owned by Covenant Health. Develops payor strategies to ensure optimal contracting and operational outcomes, advocating as issues, opportunities or disputes arise. Oversees the Provider Enrollment and Managed Care team and ensures those functions are aligned with the overall strategy. Serves as the system’s representative at the MaineHealth Accountable Care Organization (“MHACO”) Contracting and Network Management Committee. Consistently monitors the effectiveness of contracts entered into and makes strategic changes to realign terms. Utilized Microsoft Access and Crystal Reports to develop analytical tools and to track Payor Incentives. Trained staff on taking over the maintenance of these tools.Intimately involved in the operation of the Revenue Cycle aspects of Epic for the organization. Reviewed and approved requests for changes to the software to ensure compliance with all payors. Was able to identify and take advantage of a CMS Extraordinary Exception during the COVID pandemic that realized millions of additional dollars for the organization. Identified billing issues that caused incorrect payments and/or were non-compliant. Led the efforts to see that the systems were corrected and ensured past billing errors were rectified.Implemented Provider Enrollment software solutions to maximize the effectiveness of the team. Developed many Access Databases and Crystal Reports to set up electronic validation of data between the Provider Enrollment data and the Epic Provider Dictionary on a weekly basis.
