  As a part of one of my modules for the masters I worked with a team of 6 members for creating an event evaluation tool for INAS to make their evaluation process better and efficient. The challenge we had to overcome was to be cost effective yet be efficient and provide solutions for the client. The evaluation of the events was not particularly easy as they had varied first languages and it was difficult for them to understand and give feedback. We created two sets of questionnaires for athletes and the volunteers and also came up with new solutions to increase the number of feedbacks for the evaluation. Show less

  My role was to work on two research based tasks for the council and assisting in delivering major events. The tasks include:1) Sheffield has a significant events programme which includes, but is not limited to, sport events. The Events Unit were interested in a project which will help them arrive at a consistent model for measuring economic and non-economic impacts of the events programme which could be used across the whole of the events programme . Creating a method for estimating the total value of the Sheffield events programme.In common with other cities in the UK, Sheffield has to bid to host events in the city. The bidding process needs to be underpinned by a rational model which helps define and classify events according to the potential benefits to the city (and sponsors within the city who support the bidding and hosting of events). The typology we develop would be used to help the city drive forward its events strategy by enabling a classification of event types which could be used to evaluate potential events and determine which should be pursued in the form of a bid.2) The Invictus Games (22 - 26 July 2019) is an international multi-sport event in which wounded, injured or sick armed services personnel participants.This project will seek to evaluate the Invictus Games in relation to two perspectives:The general economic, brand and social impacts of the event for Sheffield, and;The personal benefits to the participants. This approach will recognise that the Invictus Games are rehabilitation events (rehabilitation being taken in its widest sense) and will involve consultation with key stakeholders in the Games: The Ministry of Defence, The Royal British Legion and Help for Heroes. We will identify a method for evaluating the rehabilitation effect of the Games and carry out an evaluation of the event. Show less
