  Junior Civil/Structural Engineer

  • As a Junior Civil Engineer working in the Civils department with the Senior Civil Engineer, I have assisted with various tasks and produced numerous designs and construction drawings with limited supervision. KEY PROJECTS:1. I designed a composite equal leg stormwater channel for a shopping complex upgrade for construction. For this project I’m also involved in monthly progress reporting and I assisted in compiling stormwater management plan and detail design report and submissions. Also did numerous site inspections and investigations. 2. I have produced construction drawings for a residential house which included foundation and first floor beams and slabs rebar detailing, and bending schedules and concrete quantities. 3. I have fully designed 2 informal settlements upgrades from preliminary design to detail design and BoQs in the Eastern Cape which included sewer design, water reticulation, roads and stormwater. 4. I designed pedestrian crossings with access roads to clients standards in a newly proposed development to construction level. 5. For a new hotel construction, I assisted in the sewer design to connect to a feasible discharge manhole. I also assisted by applying value engineering for civil works BoQ. Monthly progress reports compilation. 6. Assisted in the compilation of preliminary design and detail design reports for a stormwater management system for a project in Richards Bay. 7. Assisted with the application of all wayleaves for a NMT project. 8. I designed a pump house for an informal settlement upgrade project. 9.
