      I worked for Andersen Consulting for just over 9 years in Johannesburg and Pretoria offices, progressing from a consultant to Senior Manager position. I consulted to many organizations within the private and public sector, across various industries, and was involved in all aspects of the systems development lifecycle, from Information/Strategic Planning through to Production Systems Support. I understood and followed Andersen Consulting’s Method/1 methodology extensively during this time when performing projects. I worked with and managed projects using various technologies (e.g. IBM mainframe, ICL 3900, AS/400, PC’s) utilizing various databases (ADABAS, IMS, IDMS) using various programming languages/case tools (e.g. Cobol, Natural, Quickbuild, Design/1). During the time at Andersen Consulting I attended various training courses and seminars, and gave training at Andersen Consulting’s facilities in Chicago and Veldhoven (Netherlands). I also gave training to various clients in the use of Design/1 and Method/1.       Management of delivery of projects at various customers:• Management of the project to design and implement a credit control system for the vehicle financing division at a large South African Bank. During this project a package evaluation was performed and subsequently a mainframe package was implemented during June 1997 at branches throughout the country. Some time was spent after the implementation supporting the users. • Evaluation and formulation of the Electronic Commerce strategies that the bank should be following within the vehicle financing division, taking into account the overall strategy of the bank in this regard. This project involved substantial research with regards to a technology that was only emerging at that time (i.e. Electronic Commerce, Internet Banking, etc). • The design and implementation of a system at a bank specializing in agricultural sector finance. This project involved replacing the existing legacy mainframe system with a more flexible and modern system. I was in charge of the team developing loans functionality which would interface to the backend financial system. I was also responsible for the rollout and support of the system to all of the branches within the bank. Show less
