  As part of my degree I am required to work in a group, planning and executing a themed event in aid of Barnardo's charity. The purpose of the event was to raise awareness and money for the charity, promoting the work they do locally and how we can help improve the lives of children that need our help.Myself and my group planned a Western themed evening named "Rodeo at Revs" held at Revolution Bar in Preston on the 3rd of March 2014. A lot of hard work and effort went into the planning of the event and from the word go we had to raise all funds for the event by ourselves. We successfully raised over £600 from pre-event fundraising which consisted of two street collections in Liverpool and Manchester city centers and also a valentines cake sale coupled with a 'guess how many pieces of popcorn in the jar' competition.Job roles that were delegated throughout the group included liaising with the venue, organsing the entertainment, sourcing equipment, ticketing, finance and marketing etc.Overall, the evening was a great success and we managed to raise £900 net profit that will be going to Barnardo's. The evening was that much of a success that Revolution have asked us to organise future events with them. Show less

  As part of my year in industry I had the privilege of working with the world class team at Culture Liverpool, working alongside them on the organising, implementation and running of large scale public events including the summer programme of events; 'One Magnificent City' which consisted of Cunard's 3 Queens, the International Mersey River Festival 2015, Cunard's T175 celebrations with the world record breaking 'Very Big Catwalk'. The summer ended with the annual Liverpool International Music Festival - Europe's largest free music festival.What an incredible experience. I give my thanks to the Culture Liverpool team for their help and guidance throughout my time there developing my skillset in Events Management but more so, teaching me in the areas of Traffic Management, Operations Management, Concessions Management, Health and Safety, Production and the various other jobs I was involved in.
