  Began self-assessment phrase of CALEA accreditation, worked closely to with administration to develop a comprehensive, well thought out, uniform set of written directives to develop the most successful methods for reaching administrative and operational goals, while also providing direction to personnel and limiting the agency's liability and risk exposure. Coordinated a successful mock on-site and attended several CALEA conferences. The University of Tennessee is conducted a successful on-site with100 percent compliance and was awarded full law enforcement accreditation. Show less Served as chairman of the career path committee charged with reducing attrition rates, raising performance levels, because the police department was unable to recruit or retain non-exempt police officers. The committee and management worked with Human Resources to develop and implement a career path. As part of the development of the career path, HR conducted a market analysis of Knoxville area police positions outside of UT, and worked with the Vice Chancellor of Finance and Administration to fund the implementation of career path and make market adjustments. The plan was extremely successful in raising the performance level of police department employees and greatly reduced the rate of attrition of employees, and provided higher quality internal candidates for promotion.
