      2017 - 2021
Bachelor of Engineering - BE Metallurgical Engineering CGPA : 9.63
  • Experience

    • Sri.Deivam Foundry

      Jul 2021 - Aug 2021
      Quality Control Intern

      • Proposed the possible causes for casting defects using FMEA analysis and material characterization.• Enhanced the yield by reducing the defects to 40 defects per million by optimizing the casting design using ANSYS

    • Babu Engineering Foundry

      Jan 2022 - Feb 2022
      Process Engineering Intern

      • Researched the process variables and geometry of the cupola to enhance the productivity of the foundry.• Improved the melt production from 1 tonne/hr to 1.2 tonnes/hr by rectifying the angle of blow in the furnace and engineering the geometry and quality of coke by thermodynamical and calorific analysis

    • University of Michigan College of Engineering

      May 2023 - now
      Research Assistant

Mechanical Testing and Microstructural Characterization of Aluminum Alloys • Performed Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS) on Highly Recycled Aluminium alloys and determined a 10 to 20 % increase in microsegregation of copper phases, when compared to the baseline series.• Simulated the secondary phase distribution in Magnesium ZX30 alloy using thermocalc and achieved a required grain growth of 150 microns using Solutionizing Heat Treatment Furnace.• Collaborated with scientists to develop an image processing script for determining the secondary phase fraction from EDS maps.Texture Evolution and Deformation Behaviour of Magnesium-Yttrium Alloys• Investigated the role of strain rate and alloying on the twinning deformation and the texture of the Mg-Y system using EBSD studies.• Recorded the strain rate insensitivity of Mg-Y alloys towards the deformation characteristics and texture evolution• Established the inverse relationship between Yttrium concentration and twinning activity using thermocalc and Pole Figure Mapping Show less
