  The Legislative Director, together with the legislative staff, advises the Congressman on all legislative areas. This position assists in the development of policy positions and legislative initiatives and assists in managing the office's legislative staff.Associate Staff: House Armed Services CommitteeSubcommittees on Seapower and Projection Forces & Emerging Threats and Capabilities Associate Staff: House Appropriations' Subcommittee on Defense. Associate Staff: House Appropriations' Subcommittee on Defense. The Legislative Assistant develops and plans legislative initiatives and monitors legislative developments within Committees and on the House floor. This position requires that the individual write floor speeches for the Member, draft constituent correspondence for the Member, and meet with constituents and special interest groups on behalf of the Member. The Legislative Correspondent answers constituent mail and e-mail in both form and individual responses in co-ordination with the legislative staff. Tracks legislation through the committee, House floor, Senate and conference committee processes in assigned issue areas, and briefs the Congressman.
